Visit Italy without leaving home! Aperol Spritz!

546

I have missed Italy terribly these last 18 months and sadly, it looks like I will not get back there until at least the Spring of 2022!

Who would have thought that back in March 2020 as I was getting ready to bring a group to Puglia, Italy for the fifth time for a “Taste of Puglia, Food & Wine Experience” it would be cancelled? I would not be back until at least 2 years later due to Covid-19! I could have never imagined that! After having lived in Italy for close to 3 years and then travelling there sometimes as much as 3 or 4 times per year … I miss it so much it almost hurts. I miss my friends, family and colleagues there… I miss the food… I miss the wine…I miss the beauty of Italy and I just miss sights, sounds and smells of Italy.

Well, I can’t bring all of Italy here to Canada but I can continue to enjoy the vast Italian food & beverage culture. With the final days of Summer winding down in this part of the world I can also enjoy a beverage that I regularly enjoy in Italy in the warmer months that instantly transports me to Italy! The Aperol Spritz is synonymous with Summer in Italy… and it so easy to make!

Remember to make it pretty with lots of ice and orange slices just like the Italians do… put on some Italian music, now add a bowl of olives and bowl of chips and there…. imagine you are enjoying “Aperativo” in a bustling Piazza at 5pm…! That will have to do for now!

Plan on joining us!

If you would like to enjoy my kind of Italy, join us on a small group, experiential tour with an emphasis on the food & wine of the regions. I have taken guests on these intimate excursions since 2015… Puglia, Sicily/Malta, my ancestral region of Calabria and coming soon, Abruzzo!
